RING OF LABRADOR RETRIEVERS

Do you own a Labrador Retriever? Do you have a webpage about your Lab? Then sign up for the Ring of Labradors Web Ring.

Here are a few rules that I must ask you to follow.

You must have a homepage which deals primarily with Labrador Retrievers.
The pages must not contain any obscene or offensive graphics or words or references to sex or drugs.
No commercial pages, please. (Whether or not a page is commercial will be decided by the RingLeader. ie. page mostly deals with a product for sale or seems only to be in place to sell puppies)
This Ring was formed for the enjoyment of Labrador Retriever owners to view sites with similar interests without controversy. Therefore, the RingLeader retains the right not to include certain sites that she feels do not meet this criteria.
Lab Mixes are welcome, however, they MUST look like a Lab. It is up to the discretion of the RingLeader to determine if a LabMix will be included.
Your site must be about a living or deceased Labrador. No Virtual Dogs Allowed!
You Must Agree To Post The Ring Fragment Within 7 Days Of Submission To The Ring Queue!
You Must Notify The Ring Manager To Have Your Site Added To The Ring!

This website supports only the 3 recognized colors of Labrador (black, yellow and chocolate) as proposed by ALL known standards throughout the world. Any breeder who tries to sell you a "rare" Labrador of any color other than the 3 recognized colors is only trying to deceive you.

If your pages can not or do not follow these rules, please do not bother going any further. Failure to follow these rules will force me to remove you from the Ring of Labrador Retrievers. By filling out the queue form you agree that any site's approval is left to the discretion of the RingLeader.

You MUST have the HTML fragment on your main *LAB* page. It cannot be on a separate "links" or "webrings" page. No exceptions.

Steps to Joining the Ring of Labrador Retrievers:

Please follow these closely to preserve the integrity of the ring!

By law, we cannot collect personal information on anyone under the age of 13. Because of this we do not allow anyone 13 or under to Join a RingSurf Net Ring, or become a Ringmaster, and thus we are forced to ask you to specify your birthdate. If you are under the age of 14, you may not become a member of RingSurf. You may use the Ring Directory and use any existing ring, you just may not start a new ring, or add your website to an existing ring. Password: REMEMBER YOUR PASSWORD!!! If you lose it you are SOL because the ring master cannot help you.

STEP 2:

When you add your page to the queue, an email is sent that contains the HTML fragment you need on your page. After you get it on your page , it should look like this:

CHOOSE YOUR GRAPHIC

Right click on your choice of graphic and save it to your desktop.
*YOU MUST USE ONE OF THESE GRAPHICS IN THE RING FRAGMENT*
Then upload that graphic to your site like you would any other picture or image. You MUST have the graphic uploaded to your own site.

DO NOT STEAL THE BANDWIDTH OFF THIS SITE! Bandwidth Stealers will NOT be tolerated.

HELP! Click the appropriate name if you have a page at AOL ; Geocities ; Homestead or use Front Page.

If you have problems with the ring fragment, try to copy and paste this one onto your site.

(1) Put your OFFICIAL graphic choice where it says "YOUR OFFICIAL GRAPHIC GOES HERE"
(2) Put your site ID number where it says "YOURIDHERE"
(3) Put the name of your site wheere it says "YOURSITETITLE"
(4) Put your email address where it says "YOURADDRESS@HERE"

Standard steps to be become a member of the Ring of Labradors are as follows:
(1) Submit your site. WRITE DOWN YOUR PASSWORD AND PUT IT IN A PLACE WHERE YOU WILL REMEMBER WHERE IT IS! You or the RingMaster CANNOT make any changes to your site within the Lab Ring without your password. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!
(2) Add the Ring Fragment to your page
(3) Decide which graphic you want, right click and save, then upload the graphic to your server. Then put the name of the graphic (example: labring1.jpg) into the designated spot in the ring fragment
(4) Email RingMaster to ask her to review your site. Remember to give her the site ID!!
(5) RingMaster reviews your page and decides to add or deny you

PLEASE NOTE: AOL webpage editors, FRONT PAGE & Geocities Page Builder/Wizard do not like ring fragments. With AOL and FRONT PAGE, you'll have to first Copy and Paste the code into NotePad, then Copy and Paste into Front Page. Don't ask me why, but it usually works. If it doesn't, you'll have to try typing this code in by hand.
With Geocities Page Builder you copy and paste the ring fragment to INSERT, FORMS & SCRIPTS, then HTML CODE. Once the little Script box pops up you paste the ring fragment into the large text area. Click OK and there will be a box on your webpage editor which says "script". The ring fragment will show up once you save and review your page.
With Homestead go into the Page Builder like you would to make any updates. Then go up to Element and choose Add Element, then Insert HTML. A box will show up in the middle of the page. Double click on that and another window called the Element Editor pops up. Click Edit HTML and then paste your code in the HTML Snippet window that pops up. Once you have the ring fragment code in there, click ok.

STEP 3:
After your page has the HTML added and is ready to be in the ring, send email to the webmaster and he will check your page to see that it meets the basic requirements, and add you to the Ring of Labradors!! Please don't email her asking her to add you to the Ring of Labradors until the fragment is on your page.
Please note! Important Message You must add the Ring of Labradors fragment and graphics to your page and email the webmaster within 7 days. After 7 days your page will automatically be deleted from the queue and you will need to re-register if you still want to join the ring. You will NOT get an email when your site is removed automatically, but you're still welcome to join. You just need to sign up again.
That's it! You should now be able to navigate the entire ring until to make it back to your own page (although it may take a while). An easy way to see if it is working is to hit the "next" button on your page and see if it takes you to someone's page.
